MultiFlexx is looking for high voltage lineman for client SPIE in the Netherlands

As a high voltage lineman you will work extreme heights (up to 165 meters) to perform inspection, maintenance and malfunction work on high voltage lines. The high voltage masts where the work will be, are often at locations which are hard to reach (i.e. grasslands and open fields) throughout the Netherlands. The work is always outdoors in good and bad weather, so a good physical condition is important. It is also important that you can work within a team and that you can work accurately and safely with the safety equipment that is used when climbing the masts.

The following activities are part of the work:

• Adjusting/reinforcing existing mast constructions, excluding the reinforcement of foundations.
• Replacement of all 3-bundle phase conductors and lightning wires of the high voltage lines located between two high voltage stations.
• Replacement of insulator chains, braces, phase conductor terminal blocks and lightning wires.
• Mounting and dismounting of self-damping field spacers on the phase conductors between the masts.
• Assembly and disassembly of bird protection spirals and vibration dampers on the lightning wires.
• Assembly and disassembly of temporary safety provisions to prevent damage and to protect the traffic and objects below.

To be eligible, you meet the following conditions:

• You are available at least 40 hours a week, possibly on weekends and on call in case of calamities;
• You have work experience as a high voltage lineman;
• You preferably have a VCA certificate;
• You preferably have a basic instruction on the basics of electrical hazards;
• You preferably have a good knowledge of fall protection equipment;
• You are prepared to follow courses regarding the possible dangers of the work;
• You preferably have a driving license B and your own transport vehicle to get to locations that are difficult to reach;
• You are not afraid of heights, it is possible that we ask you to complete a test to see whether you are able to handle working on extreme heights of up to 165 meters. This is because we want to guarantee the safety of the other workers;
• You have a good understanding of the English and/or Dutch language. When working as a high voltage lineman, you work at extreme heights and with high voltage. These hazards impose great risks, so we have to carefully consider the safety of all the workers involved. Because of the health risks, it is of great importance that workers can communicate with each other. Therefore the workers must be able to speak English and/or Dutch. However, if it is possible to create a full team of workers who all speak the same language, it is not required to be able to speak Dutch and/or English, because the workers will then be able to communicate in their common language.

A screening of history and possible criminal records will be a part of the solicitation process.
